I was just feeding my Tiger Barbs and I noticed that one of them had apparent trouble going down to get the food, he would struggle until he got some then immediatelly bob back to the surface. Any ideas on what this is/how to treat it?

A lot of bass fisherman & I'm certain other fisherman that practice catch & release have to deal with this issue when catching fish from greater depths.
I'm not familiar with all the technical mumbo jumbo but, they use a syringe needle to deflate the swim bladder. I guess it's kinda like 'the bends' a diver gets from returning to the surface without decompressing. There was article about the technique & location of the bladder in an old Bass Master Magazine I read.
Hope this helps.

I have never had a fish with swimbladder disease but I think it would be important to figure out the cause. What are your water paramaters? I believe that epsom salts can be used to treat swim bladder problems, but not sure of the dosage or efficacy.
