there goes the dottyback, the guy just picked him up. at lest the dottyback gets out of the 5.5g

i cant get that original light i posted about. since its from the US i would have to pay over $100 extra for some crap brokerage fees, and the guy wouldnt guarantee the lightbulbs because he said USPS handles packaging rough.

since i dont want brokerage fees, i searched for a canadian seller and i found this light, and its even in the same city as me [Only Registered Users Can See Links.]

lol, me either!

i went to the LFS to finally get the 48" HO light bulb, and sure enough they had a awesome flower pot coral for $60. as soon as i get the new light fixture (im pretty sure im going to get the one in the link above, so i will have it in a few days. i may even drive and pick it up) i will get the flowerpot.

just to let you know, flowerpot corals (aka Goniopora) need high flow, medium to high light, heaps of iron and supplemental feedings to be a success. You should dose products such as Reef Roids (or other solid coral foods) and/or live phytoplankton.

things have changed again. the edmonton seller is for some reason not responding to emails, and hes the only canadian selling 48" lights, but i found a american seller with a 48" 260w fixture for $99 with $60 shipping. if he can ship it to me any other way besides UPS i'll get it

for some reason noone replies their emails. ive asked about 5 sellers for different 260w lights if they can ship any way besides UPS and noone replies. im willing to give someone a couple hundred dollars for a light just as long as they do something as easy as checking their email. lol

well, i just plain give up with the ebay sellers, noone has replied to my shipping emails. On my way home from work a hour ago i stopped at aquagiant to look at their 48" fixtures, and there was a 160w fixture on sale for a measly $100 so i got it.

FINALLY i have perfect equipment, now its coral time!

heres a few pics, one of the AC110 refugium (which i had to get rid of to make room for more lighting, and a side view of all of my lighting (pretty crowded i know, but theres lots of air circulation.)

the refugium was easy. all you do is take out the media and the media basket, remove the AC lid, cut out the bottom of the media tray, and stand it up to the side so that no fish or inverts can hit the impeller. for lighting on it i was using a aquagiant 13w CF clip-on

i saw that guy. theres another guy that sells hundreds of MH for $150 that are brand new. the thing that scares me in your link is that its refurbished.

i got my 2 150w MH for $100 each, a hagen 48" 110w HO fixture (really nice) for $130, and a aquagiant 160w T-5 for $100.

for some reason i always find good deals. all the lights were on sale, the regular prices were-

$150 each for the MH
$180 for the hagen HO
$220 for the T-5

i got about 10w/g for only $450! i also bought a 24" version of the hagen HO for $100 regular $130, but it obstructed the MH so i moved the 24" one onto my 20g high, which is useless since my 20g high isnt even planted

If you read the article it also states "A new ballast can be installed in the unit for $20 extra."
Letting ya know incase you missed it!

lol, im blind, never saw that. sounds like a good deal!

2 things i wanted for lighting were a 6x40w solar fixture and those huge hanging 760w lights as wide and long as a 55g that are $1000, and come with 2 MH, CF, actinics, and LED's. i almost got the solar, but shipping was insane, and i didnt get the huge hanging one because it would take up my whole top of my tank and i already sunk a few hundred into my current lighting, and if i were to get the huge one i would have to remove my current lights
