Such a beautiful pleco! What is the common name? If it has one.

Thanks guys!

My lfs brings in stock of exotic plecos regularly.

I'd be tempted to own a few more if they weren't so pricey. I mean it's literally a case of one of these plecos or 50 neon tetras.

Still, it's worth it :-) when you can see the little guy often.

I agree, very nice pleco. I think this one gets really big too 10" and is known as a galaxy pleco too (gee-wonder why?) He is straight up carnivore. I was going to get him, but thought he would get into fights with my female bristlenose as she was similar in color to him.

Love plecos, would have one of every variety in a 300 gallon tank if I could!

L264 Sultan Pleco is my favorite. I'd love to have one of them.

He does eat algae as well. In fact, he completely cleared my other tank of algae in about a week. I supplement his feeding with higher quality algae and spirulina wafers. he may also be getting brine shrimp if any of it makes it to the floor.

I believe that they take a fair amount of time to grow so here's hoping I can keep him until I eventually move out and go for that 6ft setup! He'll be fine though for along time in the current setup.

He's been docile and although most sites list them as being rarely seen during the day this one is almost always visible and on the glass or rocks.

My LFS primarily brings in:

Gold nuggets
Snowflakes
Green Phantoms

The others are generally just ordered when they feel like bringing in something different but the above three are the normal "exotics" that they bring in.
