While grandson visiting, found Silvinia molesta growing wild in one of my pond/marsh areas. Wow, was about to go to LFS to buy some, thank goodness for grandsons that are into aquariums also.thumbs2:

Wash it well....Yeah, did, actually keeping in separate container for several days and plan to wash daily before introducing into my tank, but thanks for reminder. By the way anyone want a ton or two of duck weed:help:

Man that is an oddly named plant.. I'd make sure to do a bleach dip if your getting it out of the wild, and of course make sure to qt it. never know what could be on it. I've seen a lot of wild-caught plant threads on PlantedTank which 2 weeks later the poster has a dragonfly larvae in their tank. Wouldn't want you to get that lol

Oh yeah, I know about hitch hickers. I use hydrogen peroxide works great, no rinseing even required and just as effective I think. Found lots of dragonfly eggs already, they are history.
