Here is the newest member to the Family Imp (short for Imperial as she looks like an Imperial Fighter ;)

A tiny little baby angelfish... I rescued her from someone and as you can see from the foto's she is needing some TLC for her tail... she is so small (smaller than the tetra's) so I am sure she will pick up quick... the other Angelfish have already adopted her and look out for her which is really sweet

I have 2 freshwater mussels (Jean & Claude)

They naturally filter the water - each mussel filters 25 Liters an hour so together they flter 1200 Liters every 24 hours

And the best for last... Lola with her free swimming babies (took this one this morning to try and count the amount of young and still cannot count them all - it is a huuuuge brood this time)

Very cool pics! Thanks for sharing.

Where did you find freshwater mussels? I didn't even know there was such a thing. Now I have something new to research.

There are many types of freshwater mussels ranging from small (mainly from thailand) to the larger... not a lot of people know about them and there is not a lot of info to be found on them either unfortunately...

They are great - your water really stays crystal clear with them and it adds to the filtering (1 mussel 160 gallons per 24 hours) and on top of that they are very cheap thumbs2: thumbs2: They are also a fab indicatator of bad water.. if they move around a lot in the tank you know something is wrong... and to top it all off they are quite pretty and something different than a rock :ezpi_wink1:

I wouldn't add them from a pond/lake/local waters as they may carry parasites
