Hi everyone. I just recently received a mickey mouse platy from my little sister. I'm new to the website and this is my first post. I just wanted to say hi to everyone and tell about my story about how I got her fish.
My sister bought a mickey mouse platy and not even 2 hours after getting it it started having babies. I warned that fish tend to eat most of their babies but my sister and my parents didn't listen to me. They let the fry stay in the tank with mommy dearest for a few days. The number went down from 11 to 6 the other day. I wonder what could of happened to those fish? I guess I was right after all.
Well, my sister was getting ticked at the mom for eating the fry, which it is natural, I didn't see how anyone could blame the mother. So my entire family being mad at the fish and that didn't understand the concept of "survival of the fittest" were thinking about just killing the fish. I went to Wal-Mart, bought a very small tank because I don't have a lot of money and volunteered to take the mom. So now I'm taking care of the little booger. I'm also watching to make sure that it doesn't eat anymore of the fry. After all, if it eats the babies, it is the one who decided to keep them in there together's fault. Anywho that is my story and I'm glad to be a part of this community.
