Oh well - we picked up a copy of the local newspaper today and were shocked to see two second-hand 50 g. aquariums WITH STANDS - for between $80 and $95 - for sale in the classifieds section.

Unfortunately, they had been in the paper since Sunday and were already sold today when we called frantically, excited. :ssad: I had no idea that there would be such a demand for 50 gallon aquariums in Conway, AR!!

How often do YOU see aquariums that size for that price in YOUR local classifieds??

Sigh......

Their is this professor at a local marine college that sold a 150 gallon for 120 in the newspaper. I thought it was a pretty good deal.

My paper here had a 50 gallon FREE a couple months ago and altho I called 20 times, only got an answer machine so guess it went fast. I happen to live in a very secluded area and as you say, 50 gallons is not common. One week later there was an ad in the paper for a 50 gallon tank for $50.

My thoughts is that someone got it and put it up for sale.............or it leaked!

That's nothing. I saw an add for a 100 gallon with stand FREE with no leaks. I have also seen numerous ads for free 55 gallon and 29 gallon tanks. One time I saw a free 75g with stand and hood. But unfortuanetly, my mother does not appreciate tanks that large.

Uh-oh! Just saw a new ad in the paper - big multi-family garage sale tomorrow at 7AM. 55g. aquarium with stand is one of the items listed! That means we'll be battering their doors down at 6.30AM!!!! :18:

They also say they have a dryer.......our dryer needs replaced. Ughhhh all this money!
