I've pulled out my oldest lens to try when photographing the tank. It's a 1954 50mm F1.4 Rokkor.

Thanks guys. I'm very impressed with the dwarfs. They have coloured up beautifully and they fit right in with the tank.

There are 4 Apistos and 2 Rams in this tank. I do observe them daily and have not witnessed any aggression. There's plenty of territory for them to claim but you never know.

Fish in this tank just seem to get along which suits me just fine. :-)

This is probably my favourite in this tank but I am biased because I bred him

Do you have very soft water to keep them looking that good? I'd love a few rams/apistos but I have very hard water with a 7.5pH.

I do.

I had it tested once but I can't remember the exact reading.

The guy who tested it is my local fish expert and his comment was that I can keep discus extremely happy without doing anything to my water. That's straight out of the tap.

Those old lenses do have a lovely unsharpness. Must be the lack of coating.

Nice pics again!

Here are some more which I took today. It's been a long time since I have used this lens and its very shallow depth of field.

What species is the fish in the 1st photo? Is it a Danio? Gorgeous.

It's a Danio of some kind. I've tried to get more than the two I have but it's been impossible.

They are bred in Israel apparently.

Stunning...in all honesty, I truly wish I had the patience, talent & ability to take photos of even half that quality.
