I've noticed that when my angels are not spawning, usually closer to the time that they're preparing to do so, my male will begin (I guess it can be described as a jolting motion, as they do when trying to shoo off other fish, I guess? It's hard to explain) 'jolting' at her, often a couple of times before pecking at her side/belly lightly a few times. Has anyone experienced this? Should I be worried?

I only have my male angel now, but when I also had the female they would do a lot of lip-locking and other aggressive actions just before and sometimes just after spawning.

Yeah, they didn't do that at the beginning, about 6 months into spawning regularly, they began lip locking and pecking at each other. Now he just pecks at her, she doesn't really respond and seems to be like "pfft, whatever".
