I was thinking about ordering a case of spiderwood (if available) and wanted to gauge the interest level

The case I'd be ordering comes with 12 pieces ranging from 8"-12" in size

So start a list if you would be interested... I'm not going to hold anyone to it, but if I can get even 6 pieces "sold" before I order I'd feel a lot more comfortable doing so

Im surprised you dont have 10 names on here.... Is this site even active anymore outside of a group of like 15 people?

Thanks, the stuff that is on the "can get list" really comes down to the amount wanted and if it's something I need to do a minimum order on. If some wants 1 plant that nobody else wants but I gotta buy 10 lol

I don't see it till it gets delivered, it's kinda a random box.

House repairs and saving for a wedding can make that dough flat bread pretty quick lol

I'm hoping this fall to get about $1000 in plant sales... will allow me to upgrade my 75 equipment, build a planted tank rack, and buy a go-pro for in tank shots :)

Triton

Emerged, But using high humidity, so typically the transition is fairly smooth

I put 4 of the rosettes in my 10g tank and no leaves died, just grows slow for a short period of time while they adjust

Hmmm. I'll have to think about it. I wouldn't mind getting bulbs from all of them. How big would you say they get. If I got them for my 20 gallon would they become unmanageable? I know I've seen the lace leaf get pretty dang big.

I guess it will do ok in plain old PFS?...would root tabs be beneficial?

Few types of plants Id like to clear out before the holidays

Linmophila indica - $1 per stem
Cyperus Helferi - $3 each
Blyxa Aubertii - $4 each
Red flame sword - $8 each
Aponogeton Capuronii - $7 each
Aponogeton Longilopulmous- $7 each
Crinum Calamistratum - $13 each
Banana plants - $3 each

SueD
12-16-2014, 03:19 PM
Will you continue to carry the cyperus helferi? I'd like some of this but am just not ready yet - have only the tank, no stand, top, lights, substrate. Planning just one more tank when I retire in two months! But have no place to plant these now.

One other question, what, if any, kind of snails (ugh) might one expect with these?

Triton
12-16-2014, 03:27 PM
I can get the cyperus occasionally. So should be an issue. The occasional pond snail sneaks by, I clean them the best I can, but once in awhile something gets past my old eyes. I recommend dipping the plants for ppl that want to eliminate risk of snails

Just posted a ton of pics of the spiderwood to my FB page (too many to post here - 30+)

SueD

My assassin colony works well with pond snails - haven't had one for a couple of years since I've had the assassins. But they've not been effective against MTS or those tiny flat ramshorns. I'm plagued by these.

Thanks Chris...still not sure what to get for the 29G...I think Lauren would like a banana plant...I need something tall, for the left side of the tank, to go next to/behind the tall DW, and help conceal the AC70 pickup and heater a bit

No vals or swords...I'd like something different in this tank

Boundava
12-17-2014, 03:32 PM
Try the Aponogeton bulbs...either one-so beautiful and leaves get nice and long. My Aponogeton Longiplumulosus is so tall and full the leaves bend over on the surface like a floating plant. My Gouramis love to hide in it and they pick the algae growing on it. It also has thin leaves that are transparent so it doesn't block out all the light that a floating plant would

Triton
12-17-2014, 03:38 PM
I Love my apono bulbs. I have one of the cap bulbs that is 3 connected

Slaphppy7
12-17-2014, 03:57 PM
So these are bare bulbs that you plant in the substrate?

I have PFS for substrate, medium lighting, and don't use ferts or CO2...they'd still work?

Do you have a pic of a grown one?

Triton

RiversGirl

Boundava
12-17-2014, 04:16 PM
Little beauties! My have roots growing all over the place, they are thriving-but I do have CO2 and dose with ferts and have 2 LED lights (med-high) l set up.

Slaphppy7

They would benefit from root tabs

Triton
12-17-2014, 04:19 PM
Those are the ones I currently have too :) so no bare bulbs

Slaphppy7
12-17-2014, 04:23 PM
A question about the root tabs...Kevin sent me some once...osmocote in gelatine capsules

I put them in a little plastic container...in a few weeks, the capsules "melted" for some reason...they were stored in a cool, dry closet...now I just have a clump of what once were individual tabs

Are these the same as the ones you sell?

Triton
12-17-2014, 04:25 PM
Hmm that's weird. I leave mine in bags and they are fine. If you get them wet they will stick together bad

Slaphppy7
12-17-2014, 04:29 PM
Yeah, it was strange...I certainly didn't get them wet

Slaphppy7

I wonder if the LED I have will be sufficient....white light is 6500K

Triton

I've had no issues in my 75

Boundava

Okay-well that piece will be way too big then.
let me take another look at them and I will let you know. I have a large piece of Mopani to the right side (as you view the tank) and wanted something on the left with a little more height. The Mopani is 17" long so it does take up a bit of the tank.

Something new to spend money on! Haha.. as for now.. no. I'd like to use this as jump off, more dw and more plants, triton walked me through a simple misting system that would allow emersed growth of desirable plants. I'm thinking of starting with anubias tissue cultures and if that works maybe some buce's.

Andrews - Just a mention on how good Triton is... He has shipped me personally over 20 shipments. I have never had a cold related loss EVER in 2+ years of shipping. He uses heat packs when needed, never keeps things packaged for longer than needed and has a system worked out to get your packages there faster than most. This all equals good things for you, the customer. I would trust his shipping even in 0 degree cold outside.

nope

The red hadi and horizontalis are echinodorus species, the tropica and philippine are the relatives to java fern

I don't want a mini palm tree but you're suggestion gave me a thought. Use Cholla wood as the base for anubias. Just tuck the roots into the holes in the wood = instant planter.

Now you're going to tell me that you already do that, right?

Yes, great idea but I just spent some of Saturday gluing the remainder of my Anubias to the background while I was doing a WC. Sticking it in the cholla would have been neat too. Like Matt, I don't need any more plants in the tanks...by the way the 2 ulvaceus or crispus you sent me both flowered and both pollinated and now I have itty bitty aponogeton growing on my substrate, about 4 of them.

I think FM was suggesting this as a solution to the Palm tree for the 10g. If you stood the cholla wood on end and secured the anubia to the top, it may look like a cute little palm.

Yes, I was replying to her, but thought she meant with them laying on their side...upright will be what I suggest to Mrs. Slap

Triton
