Hmm...looks to me the "congensis" would resemble palm leaves the most from those 3...thanks!

I'm glad Mrs. Slap is fond of the idea. Perhaps you could find a rock the right size to slip into the end of the cholla wood to anchor that side down in the substrate. Or, I guess you could use silicone to secure it to some slate which will help keep it upright. Sorry I can't Photoshop for you.. no skills there but I'm excited to see how this turns out!

I'm glad, too...I'll show her these pics when she gets home

Yes, a rock wedged in one end would hold it down just fine, I'm betting

Triton
02-09-2015, 07:01 PM
yep, zip tie through the wood, around a rock would be the best bet

Hi Chris
I just checked out all of the plants on your list

I'm thinking these might be good choices for my 90?

Hygro Temple "Narrow"
Kleiner Bar "Medium" (like 7-9")
Corkscrew Vals

I'd love to try the Potted Ludwigia Broad - but i think my pH is too high.

Let me know if you think these will work.

Triton
02-10-2015, 02:53 PM
whats your pH

fishmommie
02-10-2015, 03:01 PM

Triton
02-10-2015, 03:05 PM

Do you have any stems currently which would do well in a low light tank? I have loads of Hygro sp. Tiger but want something different for my 20G long.

Triton
03-07-2015, 02:13 PM
Not currently... I might be placing an order next week though, anything particular your thinking

MCHRKiller
03-07-2015, 02:52 PM
Myrio green...species of hygro which isn't sp. tiger. Really not picky just stuff that will do very well under 34watts of T8. My A.barteri are far too large for the tank so those are getting moved, and Im phasing out the NL java so I have the entire back of the tank to plant. So Im looking for 2-3 species.

Triton
03-07-2015, 02:55 PM
That's not a problem, let me check over my list on Monday and il get back to you, maybe if a few other members are interested I can do a group order to meet the mins and everyone wins :)

Slaphppy7
03-07-2015, 05:12 PM
I don't want a mini palm tree but you're suggestion gave me a thought. Use Cholla wood as the base for anubias. Just tuck the roots into the holes in the wood = instant planter.

Now you're going to tell me that you already do that, right?

I gotta give credit where it's due....I mistakenly thought Triton came up with the palm tree idea, but it was Cindy...thanks so much, it worked out great!

What a nice offer. I'll pass and leave it for someone who regularly orders from TWS.

Yes, finally done with sickness and will be doing a fairly large one in a couple weeks. Done wasting $ at LFS, had 96/97% die off with the emperors and cardinals I bought (all 11 emperors, and 10 of the 12 cardinals) bought kuhlis (seem to be all there) and otos too and I actually think that they all made it as well, though I have only seen 8 at a time on some zucchini I fed the other day.

Would like some more cardinals, emperors and otos.

OMG - Got home today after a 3 day visit at my sister's and low and behold I had a box of plants waiting for me..
As usual I think I got around 3 times the number of plants I ordered. Great shape. Very healthy.
I ordered what I thought might be enough for my 90 - and I have MANY plants left over for the 30 and 15. So yay!

Thanks Chris for not only the quantity but the quality. Watch my 90 thread, guys. I'll post something soon.
I have 2 other tanks to plant right now :o)

Do you sell any moss? Like the phoenix moss or flame moss?

Triton
03-30-2015, 03:21 PM
I don't yet, but a buddy of mine does, how much are you looking for?

Boundava
03-30-2015, 04:16 PM
How is he selling the moss? Everywhere I see sells it for 2"x2" sections which I am assuming that means it matted (though they don't specify, and they don't respond to emails), or golf ball sizes (loose I would assume). Maybe one golf ball size of flame and 2 golf ball size portions of the phoenix-would that make a tennis ball? lol

To bad cause I would have liked to add 4 moss balls to that too

Triton
03-30-2015, 04:20 PM
I can get you sent the flame and xmas moss in golfballs, along with some moss balls possibly. Let me find out what my buddy wants for them, and we can get you hooked up

Tried the repashy last night when I got home, here are my reviews and thoughts

I used an 8x9 section of egg crate, then 2-1/2 1/4 cups of water to a 1/4 of the repashy mix.

I microwaved the water before adding the repashy then mixed it all up, that mixture filled most of the egg crates and the stuff gelled up in about 5 mins (max). I tried the meat pie and bottom scratcher. They received mixed reviews by the fish, either nobody touched them (possibly didn't know what it was) or absolutely destroyed the stuff.

I plan to mix this stuff into my regular rotation over flake and pellets as I think it is healthier in the long run.

Now being carried by TFA

wish I had a costco near me... would be a hell of a deal.

I hear so many pros and cons of the different shelves at all times, makes the decisions tough LOL. Ended up going with the ones from Walmart for now - will be putting 1/2" ply in rather than the metal grate.

Been slowly updating the website, now have close to 100 products available :)

I saw that too! Really wanted it, but its something they have every January (apparently the new year isn't about weight loss-but organization too).

BTW I have to go and get some of those shrimp crisps at your site...I finally used the sample you sent me. They went bonkers! BTW the sample fell under the shelf and I just found it this weekend...hazards of 100 grated metal shelf-its see through!

Ebi = Shrimp
No Seicho = Strong

So the name is Strong Shrimp translated :)

Slaphppy7

Boundava
01-19-2016, 07:55 PM
Well I got the Ebi crispz, and the shrimp love it and Triton sent me a sample of the Ebi veggie pads (same brand) and they went nutzo over it too so guess what I bought today? I also picked up the Regular mix and some of the Tantora mulberry and amaranth leaves for the shrimp too.

If you guys have shrimp and haven't tried the Ebi line I would recommend it. My shrimp love it a lot more than the Hikari crab and shrimp food-they actually mass over this food, they never did that with the Hikari. They also love the repashy shrimp souffle, and will mass over that too.

Can you make as little or as much of the Repashy at once that you want?

How long does it keep in the fridge?

I don't have any fancy molds...could I just make a brick or something, lol

Triton
01-19-2016, 10:01 PM
Its easier to make in medium quantities IMO, I like using 1/4 cup of powder to 5/8 cup of water (2.5 1/4 cup measurements) because it makes enough to last just long enough.

For me, the grub pie went bad around 10-12 day mark, while the morning wood was 14-15 days

Any shape mater or form will work. Use older tuperware, use eggcrate (my favorite), pour it on a rock - let set - and put the rock in the tank. Great thing about the stuff is the flexibility of how you can use it

Slaphppy7
01-19-2016, 10:02 PM
So, it sets up at room temp, or refrigerated?

I guess i should wait to ask all of this until I get some, because I'll forget it all, lol

Triton
01-19-2016, 10:03 PM
sets at room temp, need to mix with hot/boiling water, sets fairly quickly (5-10 min)

Just to throw my experience into the mix, if its okay...I agree with Triton; measurement wise its what I do too...4T which is 1/4 c, then I add 3 times as much water (a bit more for the morning wood) and pour it into molds. I keep mine a week. I used ice cube trays, you can just pour it out in a metal baking sheet (clean obviously) and cut it into chunks for serving. I am going to lay some of it thinly on sheets of parchment paper this weekend for the otos and shrimp. It will set up in both, if its thicker (a brick, lol) then refrigerate it till firm.

Triton

shoot me a pm, I usually only put stuff on the website if I have it awhile since its fairly labor intensive to do so and to keep track of the stock lol

We would like to get more customers involved in using the review feature on our website, so we will be doing a store credit giveaway. This is how it will work:

1. All new reviews until the end of January will add .50 cents to the store credit raffle pool of funds. ie. 200 reviews = 100$ store credit, 20 reviews = $10.00
2.Those who have purchased/received samples of products are eligible to review the products.
3. Each review on the website that you do, that i can verify is a product you have bought or received as a sample will be 1 entry in the raffle, 5 reviews equals 5 entries into the raffle for the store credit, 10 reviews = 10 entries etc.
4. You can review any past products as well. ie. you ordered 4 products in June, but never left reviews, you can leave a review now and be entered into the raffle for the store credit.

At the end of January I will do the raffle using a RNG to determine the winner of the store credit, if you have any questions, please let me know.

Thank you,
Chris
