i bought a leather coral, a toadstool, that my lfs said is about to split. Well it had its arms out a little at the store, and its been in my tank for a little over 24 hrs, but none of its arms are out.... any ideas as to why

pH:8,2
ammonia 0
nitrates less than 10
trites 0
hardness 240
79 degress

you should up the temp. to 82 for NSW conditions.

how much wattage is youre lighting? they are hardy but need medium-high light, which in a 24g is at least 120w and max 240w of light needed

About the heat... lol the tank came with one of those freaking no adjust heaters, it stays at 79 degrees at night and 81ish during the day with the lights on.... and i have 75 watts of pc full spectrum and 50 watts of 50/50 acetic..

your lighting seems alright so i think the coral just needs to get used to your tank more.

Leathers are temperamental...sometimes they'll deflate too...often to do with stress, or 'shedding'...

Sometimes corals will react to the difference in lighting, from the dealers tank to yours. Give it some time to adjust.:thumb:
