is it more costeffective to buy a RO unit and make water wil salt, or buy water from fish store for 1 dollar per gallon, my tank is 100 gallons

I think it's more cost effective AND convenient to buy...

...we have an R/O system and I still prefer to buy...

But others think having your own system is more efficient...

But certainly, for the original fill you should buy, otherwise it will take forever for your little unit to produce enough...and keep in mind R/O systems waste a LOT of water (that you still have to pay for if you do it at home)...

...and then you'll need at least 10g a week to do a 10% change...
