well, ive always wanted a small trigger for my 55g. i know that most kill inverts, and for inverts i have the coral banded shrimp and arrow crab. i dont want to remove them since the coral banded cleans alot and the arrow crab eats aiptasia and baby bristleworms, and eats algae.
Today i saw a nice 55g show reef with 200lbs LR, and hopefully by january i can get that much in the tank.
are there any triggers that could go in the tank, providing i have 200lbs LR and the trigger would be the last fish added?

i wouldn't add any form of trigger in a tank with any kind of mobile inverts (crabs and shrimps etc), even with 200lbs of LR.
The most peaceful trigger i can think of is the Niger trigger. Doesn't get too big and tends to leave most other inhabitants alone. However, there is a 50/50 chance of eat having a munch on your arrow crab and banded shrimp

that sucks, 50/50 is just too big of a chance. i guess i'll have to skip him.

There are triggers that are definitely reef safe but they would outgrow your tank and rather quickly too.
If you had like a 125g+ then I would recommend the blue throat, pinktail or crosshatch trigger. Figure they're a "someday" fish!! :thumb:

the scary part for a 150g would be the cost of 200lbs LR. if i can find someone taking down a large reef on a local ad selling LR for $5 a lb that wouldnt seem so bad.

Is there a craiglist for canada? I check my local one like everyday just to see if someone is giving something fish related away.

there is, but few people post for aquariums. i think under edmonton theres 5 ads, all a year old. lol
usededmonton.com, kijiji.ca, and buysell.com are swarming with edmonton ads.

i emailed about this guy, but never got a response

i think the reason for such a large aquarium ad section is that literally 1/3 people in edmonton have aquariums. i know that both of my neighbors have planted tanks, and someone a few houses down has a nice 75g reef. when you drive at night you see alot of tanks

wow, the 150g got sold already.
on a different note, someones buying my royal dottyback for $25. i want to put him in my 55g but when i tried a $40 fire shrimp with him it was a $40 snack. i cant trust him with my 55g's inverts.
its not fair for the dottyback to sit in a 5.5g all his life so im glad someone can give him a good home

That was a good deal on that 55! And that urchin is nice too...tuxedo urchin I believe.
Sorry to hear you had to sell the dottyback but at least it got a good home and you got a decent price for it! :c7:
