hi there I have a community tank with a sword plant and some giant Ambulia (Limnophilas) They are making rapid growth so they must be happy. I'm wondering if they can be trimmed to encourage more bushy growth. a few of the stems are quite long now.
If I can trim them where on the plant should it be done that will encourage the bushy growth?

I'm apprehensive to trimming them in case they die.

Thanks in advance.

You cannot really trim the sword plant, except for maybe pruning old leaves. The limbo phial stems can have their tops cut and those replanted. I don't think that limbo phial branches much if at all though. Pieces you cut off you be quite long(several inches) so they can be replanted and longer intervals between cuttings ensure plants aren't stunted.

yeah sorry, I wasn't going to trim the sword plant I thought I'd just mention that I have one growing well just like the limbo phial.
how far above the growth of some leaves should I trim it then?
