well, im gonna try a experiment. remember when i put a aquaclear 110 on a 10g? thats nothing compared to this.
i have a spare 10g and a biowheel 350 filter im not using. the biowheel fits perfectly and the intake fits.
im thinking of planting it (30w lighting in it) and puting in 4-5 neons and see how it works out
And what is the goal of this expirement? The AC110 you had on a 10g was not only "rated" for a larger tank but also has 150 gph more flow rate. I am also thinking that the suction will be too great for the plants, you'll constantly be having to clear the strainer.

just to see how everything would react to the current. with the AC110 i had no plant troubles and the fish were fine with it

Always trying something new:hmm3grin2orange:

I doubt you'll have any problems with current because the 350 has less flow then then the AC110 (by 150gph) but as I posted earlier, you'll have to watch the plants with the suction.
In regards to the lighting, if you want 30w and you have a canopy with incandescent bulb sockets, Hagen has mini CF bulbs under the Life Glo name which screw right in (they have built in ballasts) and provide 15w each, so with 2 you'll get your 30w. They only cost around 8 bucks each and give off a very nice light.
