i found this video sickening i cant believe "aquarist" still make bettas fight.
they get really nice betta and make them fight for their amusement.and they call them selfs betta keepers.

Nick, you're a kind soul. I guess if I would have looked at it I would have know it was kids. Its sad the kids aren't taught to respect life and aren't supervised well enough to prevent that kind of thing.

I remember as a 6 year old trying to catch skinks in the garden. Once I got so frustrated, I threw a rock at one...and for once, my timing was perfect.

I killed him.

So, I got my skink in the end. But at what cost? It was dead, useless.

And I felt very ashamed and very sorry for it. I think I even cried for a few moments.

So, since then, I've tried to be good towards pets, present and future. And I hope kids will learn just like I did.

I can understand a young child accidently killing a small animal or bug and feeling like you did Nick. I think all children do that at some point. It takes a lot of planning and thought to video tape a fish fight, download it to a computer and then upload it to YouTube. Maybe I'll think differently when my son is older but I can't help thinking where is the parent when all this is going on and why doesn't that child know that's wrong? If a child is old enough to know how to do all that took to get that on YouTube he/she should know better. I do hope that someday that child learns before any other animals are hurt.

some kids today just have very violent nature they like seeing animal fight even people fighting. me growing with animals i can never make animals fight.like blu said we cant do nothing about them is their own choice to stop the unacceptable behevior.

i admit ive enjoy cock fighting. but i never push it to the level till the chicken fight to death .i watch my cocks fight naturally they do this to show that they are the leader of the herd and any way the losing chicken will retreat unlike the chicken in a big stadium that figth to death.dont get me wrong but this is part of our culture.

like the bettas in the in the wild the losing fish will retreat .but the kids tank is to small for the fish to retreat.which add up to killing one of the fish or both.
