And all are very happy with zero fighting or aggression. I hear so much about how aggressive they can be but I bet if I dropped a female in the tank, all the nice attitudes would suddenly disappear.

I have 10 fire gourami's.

When did you get gouramis?

When you say fire gouramis im guessing their dwarves gouramis...I had 2 in a 10g with no female and they killed each other after a few weeks..give them some time LOL

sounds neat. I love the way fire gouramis look. I just am weary about getting any gouramis becuase of how easily they catch diseases.

I've only had them 5 days. Ever notice when you see gourami's they are already nearly full grown compared to others you may buy that are so small yet. I can't see where any of these have any growing to do but they have colored up much nicer.

I've had gourami's before but had them when I first got into fish keeping and didn't have my water perfect yet. They died from unstable water conditions.
Can't say as they are by any means my favorite fish but they are to keep the firemouth company and seem to be doing a good job of that.

Hope they stay happy. I had 4 males in one of my 40 long tanks. Lasted a little over a month before they started at each other.

I second that. When I first got my gouramis they were fine for about a month and then they started missing fins.
Give it another few weeks hobbs I bet you will run into some problems unfortunetly.
I was at my LFS the other day and I saw a whole tank of flame honey gouramis. Probably just about an inch. I really want one of those cuz they looked so cool but I am not going to bother because I already have this one and we have had so much problems with gouramis.

Maybe I will have to get some angels to feed the gourami's to. LOL I won't be surprise if the firemouth doesn't bother them but I think she's just to afraid of her own shadow.

How are females together? Would they have the same kind of aggression that you find with the males sometimes?

Females are fine together. The women are a little smarter than the guys. You know, talking, gossiping about the tank decor, etc.

Guys are just like "Screw all of you punks, you want a piece of me?" :wink2:

Lol.......Yeah that makes sense :) Maybe i'll try putting two females in there. I don't want babies or fighting if at all possible.
