Does any one here keep native fish?

I have a 30 gallon hexagon tank with a pumpkinseed sunfish (only about 2 inches long) and a huge minnow [I think he's a common shiner or a creek chub (about 4 inches long)]. Im thinking of trying to get a spotted goby or a brown bullhead before the creek freezes over.

remember with native species you catch from the wild come parasites. If you aren't worried about that....then ok. Also some native species are illegal to remove from their habitat. Again...most people don't worry too much about that. As a fish loveer....if that's what you're into....go for it.

I've had them both for about 2 months they were half their size when I caught them and i have added a pleco and hes doing fine. When I transfer a wild fish from a bag to my aquarium I do just what I would do for any other fish. I leave the bag in the water for 30 minutes then splash some aquarium water in and leave it for another 30 minutes. I'm extra careful not to get any water from the bag into the aquarium, so I use a net to scoop the fish out of the bag. So far I haven't noticed any external parasites but that might just have been from luck.

make sure you check that it isn't illegal to catch and keep these fish in aquariums.
