I am probably going to get a 75g tank, but if its too hard to find one with a good deal i might get a 55g because i can get good deals on that easily. So anyways I was thinking of fish with colors of yelow, blue, green, red, black, silver. Anyways this is what i had in mind
1 Gold sev
1 Green sev
1 redtail shark (already have it so it has to be in the tank)
2 blue gouramis (m+f)
6 praecox rainbowfish
maybe

1 gold sev
1 redtail shark
?

? What else what would you guys put in???

Well said. That stocking would indeed be pushing it. The original stocking suggestion is too large.

My suggestion is to get the tank and filtration first, start a fishless cycle, then let's help with the potential stocking.

i agree w/ this...you must crawl before you walk. get the tank fish ready then start throwing some ideas around.

Try to buy just the tank then get a glass cover and add a light and filters and you'll still be better off than trying to get a kit which includes a top that will fall apart, a heater that will break in a month and a filter that is about good enough for a 29 gallon. You pay more for the kit then have to replace all the junk that comes with it anyway.

You'll save more money getting the additional things online, as well.

I would probably have some type of canister filter on there and then a Aquaclear 70.

What type of canister? You would need one registered for 150g to be enough.

I don't think it would be worth it to buy a canister filter for a 150 gallon for a 75 gallon. I bought a canister filter for my 75 gallon and it was for a 92 gallon and that costed me $250. I can't imagine how much one for a 150 gallon would cost.

What do you mean it would not be worth it, you need adequate filtration if you want to keep fish. You should always go with a better filter because it lets you do less w/cs and keep more fish.
