Since i have brought my new oscar home, he seems to be very very light sometimes, and sometimes pitch black which looks cool. I did a little water change today. Is everything ok?

white usually means stress, and dark black means hes happy

the water is clean, so i dont get why he would be stressed out. He's eating well, and swimming. Im not sure.

its probably because of a new environment

hope so, he is "aggressive" when them flakes hit the water. so he is eating well. but sometimes he just lays on the gravel.

When my fish are startled they turn pale but when feeding they turn so dark and beautiful, they also some what communicate with there color.

The oscar in my 75 changes colors with mood. During and after feedings his black fades out to a dark green.

If yours is acting fine then just leave it be and see how he settles in.

Any pictures?

he turns like a light grey color instead of his dark black. I mean this is what he does.. Remember, hes like 2 inches so hes still a baby. He lays on the gravel, not breathing real hard, when i feed him he goes right after the flakes/pellets. swims around a little bit for most of the day, sit on the gravel, behind a plant or something or in his pots. Is this normal for baby oscars? to be laying on the gravel? He seems active, especially feeding time.

oscars sometimes just lay for a "rest". mine does that sometimes. if hes on his side most of the time thats something to worry about. mine just gently lays on his stomach

Well hes just a little tilted sometimes, looking around the tank. He isnt completely on his side, just tilted slightly on his side.

He's going to be just fine, and i wont be asking any more questions.
