After months of looking I finally acquired 6! Looks like I have 1 male and 5 females.
Setup is a 10 gal with java moss covered rocks. They have settled in and are eating microworms and newly hatched brine shrimp. I'm a happy fish keeper!!

Congrats xxx They are lovely I have 15 in one of my shrimp tanks - good luck with breeding ... it is not so difficult especially if you have lot's of java moss ;)

I have the plastic grid (used for needlepoint) and lots and lots of java moss.
Just have to let them grow a little and condition them. Definitely going to breed!
I really like these little guysthumbs2:

until they fatten up, they are pretty thin. They will spawn every few days, when I see eggs I'll separate the sexes and put them in a prepared spawning tank.
I have them near the computer so I can set and watch. They are having a nice meal of microworms now:hmm3grin2orange:

Those are beautiful. Did you pay much for them? what are they like the size of tetras?

They are small, max. size 1" I got them for $6 ea, normally $7.99 I've seen them offered for $20 ea.
They are the newest thing in the fish trade. Discovered last year.
Mine are about 3/4", I have neons that would weigh 4-5 time as much as these little fellows

Dude, if you can breed them, you will make a nice profit! Plus they are rare, so you should have no trouble selling the fry.

My intent from the beginning was to breed them, I'm not content just "keeping" fish. I want a tankful of these beauties! thumbs2:

are they as easy to breed as regular danios?

from what I have read, they are fairly easy. Spawns of up 30-50 eggs. It will be a month or so before mine are ready. I hope to get a few more, and will have the spawning and grow out tanks ready
