i have a big male convict he is nearly 5 inches long (including his tail) and a girl convict who is only like half his size, is this a problem if i put them in together? im wanting them to breed but i dont want the male to pick on the female cause she's little.

there could be some aggression, however my white ones are different sizes and they breed.

as long as you have hiding places it may work, i cant guarantee it

i think they would, you should introduce them and just watch how they react on one another

i was going to do it tonight after kids were in bed but i got impatient lol. so they have been together for about an hr and a hlf..... the female has been darting all over the tank while the male was looking very interested. they seem to be doing a dance or a game. im not worried bout the female to much.... she is fiesty and can hold her own with my oscar!!!
they seem to be going well which is great, i may get some little fry one day :11:

You may want to add a piece of PVC pipe/connector that she can fit in that he can't.

Yes, a good idea. I find it helps to add the male into the female's tank, so he doesn't et all territorial.
