That guy was over reacting. It's just an isopod. The fish was perfectly safe to eat.

those parasites eat out and become the fishes tongue as they grow. creeps me out a bit.

Did he seriously expect the fish to be flawless like a manufactured item? He was buying what used to be a living creature from the wild(yes, sea bass are farmed but they still are farmed in the ocean). It shouldn't be too surprising for the occasional(although certainly unappetizing) parasite to appear.
