A day to go out a blow a wad of cash on a fish you dont even own yet

So i finally decided to start the betta tank (small hex)

So i bought:

A large rock decoration with little plants
A filter
Air pump
4 fake plants

And wouldnt you know it i guessed the tank size wrong and bought a decoration just a cm or so taller then the tank.

so im thinking ill make up and lid with a hole somehow or perhaps open top? are bettas jumpers?

anyway heres the stuff and the tank and how i think im going to have it what do you all think?

And i know the neon plants are alittle out of place but i thought it needed alittle colour and they will make my girlfriend happy

Sounds like me now. I live in a small apartment and cleaning my fish tanks makes my apartment resemble a person who is in the process of moving out. I manage to tear my whole living space apart.

I was sitting here watching TV last night staring at my fish and thought, why are my tanks so clean and my apartment's such a mess!

Awesome looking tank. Are you using a filter? I just set up a one gal. with undergravel but the thing blasts tiny bubbles almost foam like. Do I even need a filter? noticed you got a heater too is that too big for one gal?

Well my tank is about 5g

Ive got a sponge filter in it so no huge current and yeah the heater is alittle big for it still deciding if i want that one or buy a smaller one

yours should be heated bettas are tropical fish so it should be kept in the normal temp for tropicals whatever that may be that you keep
