So....I have been really paranoyed about our new betta.....I am hoping, oh so hoping that he was not dyed. But he is a brilliant bright red, but the top half of is eye is also red....the bottom half white. puffins eyes are black so I can't compare.....its so weird though. If its normal, great but i'm hoping dye had nothing to do with it. I dont think ive heard of bettas being dyed though.
Rob posted a pic of him in the other thread but here it is again...

it would be a shame if he is dyed
he is very bright and cheerful to look at

He just really is really pretty...even started a bubble nest this morning :) Along with my betta puffin, who has been building a bubble nest off and on for the past 2 weeks. lol
Dont worry its normal. I have had a lot of bettas with half colored eyes.My betta Bloodmoon is red with half black eyes and half blue..I think a few of my females have it to but diff. combinations of colors.
By the way he is a really nice looking betta..a great find.

Okay thank gosh....I was like "Oh no...tell me they didnt dye him!" :( I get so upset when fish are dyed...especially when people aren't told about them being dyed.
I know me to..its so cruel to dye them but there is no reason to dye a betta they already have awesome colors.
Wow I just looked at my bettas eyes again and they are tricolored..he has red in them too...thats different lol
But I think that their different color eyes make them more pretty especially yours with the red and silver look.
