Ive been searching google for a few days and i still cant manage to tell the females apart from the males. I really need someones help on this since i might get one and already have a female convict.

Normaly the male Firemouth (Meeki) is bigger than the female, and the red on its body is more brightly. But you can only detect those diferences when the Meekis are at least 3 inches long. Young Meekis really look more or less the same.
Sometimes you may be able to differ the sexes by watching the behaviour closely. Even young males are slightly more "agressive" than the females. And normaly they are a bit more curious.

Glad you posted this thread as I had the same question.
Thanks Andrea for the answers, too. Guess I have the female. She's about 5 inches, light red on her belly and a scardy cat.
Do you have firemouths with your sajicas?
