OMG Feeding Question.

What should i feed my electric yellow cichlids??? Right now i feed them tetracichlid and tetracolor fish pellets for two days and then the third day i feed them freeze-dried shrimp.

cichlid pellets, or at best NLS or hikari.

The best thing would be New Life Spectrum (NLS). Even if they don't carry it at the LFS, get it online (cheaper anyways).

you can also try a little zuccini once or twice a week. mine like it pretty well although it took a little bit for them to warm up to it.

Hikari Cichlid Excel would be a second option to NLS, although NLS is much better, Hikari is just better than all the others.

ok so should i use NLS or hikarki in place of the brine shrimp or pellets?? Where would i get them cuz i dont think my LFS carries them.

Definitely NLS and many places online carry it. The things you need to pay attention to are size and whether it floats or sinks.

How big are your electric yellow labs?
What substrate do you have?

i havent been able to get NLS for my oscar yet but i give my oscar hikari

Could i add lettuce to their diet?? I saw my LFS feeding them lettuce, so could i use lettuce bought from the grocery store

Mine LOVE lettuce...the big leafy green kinds are better for them. They love romaine lettuce and zuchinni. I put it on a veggie clip and they pick at it for hours.

So like just regular lettuce will suffice??

I feed lettuce for a once a week treat. Don't do iceburg lettuce-try to find something big and leafy, like romaine or green leaf lettuce.
