I didn't know Goldfish could survive in water as cold as Lake Tahoe. I lived there for two years and don't want to go back except to visit in the summer time.

I love how they write they mysteriously appeared as if they fell from the sky. They appeared like odd ball fish appear all over the country............someone put them there. Hard to believe people do not have the heart to destroy a $3 fish but think nothing of destroying a whole lake of natural inhabitants.

The local ponds here you can find fish that have been released from fish tanks. I've seen goldfish, plecos, even an oscar in a local park pond. Have even seen a 10g fish tank in a pond. Lots of poor decisions. Think florida is even worse, with all those hurricanes and stuff, a lot of fish farms were completely flooded and their fish stock released into the local waterways.

+1 to that... In the Cape where my uncle is a lot of people have Koi ponts and all that... when these big rains come in they can get washed many places. There are mullet in land locked ponds here.
