I am going to try to breed my discus, I have heard ist is very hard to do but would like to try it. Does anyone know how old and large they are before they can start to breed. I have looked up everything on the water conditions and temperatures but cannot find how old and what size they can start. Anyone done this succesfully?
Thanks
Size changes based on the environment the discus are raised in as juveniles. Age is between 18 and 24 months and again is determined by their environment. I would recommend getting 5 to 6 juvies let them grow up and pair off on their own. It takes longer, but you know that the fish are in good shape since you raised them.

Will different types of discus breed? Such as Pigeon Bloods and Neon Blue?
Discus are discus. The color morphs you see available for sale are hybrids of 3 distinct species in the wild. So yes they will interbreed.
