I read that it takes 36-72hrs for the eggs to hatch.

yep, thats right. usually 2-3 days

2-4 days depending on temp. When the temp is around 80 degrees F. then it should take around 2 days....but my first time i had fry it took 4 days at 75 degrees F. And they NEED a steady temp. It has to stay the same or it will kill them.

well its been like 5 days, does that mean that its probably not going to happen? they did the whole embracing & squeezing thing throughout tuesday. the temperature has been steady at 79 & the male is still guarding the nest.
