Hi all,

I posted a similar message to this in the livebearers section, but I thought I'd try here as well:

I've had a male betta in my 15 G community with three female balloon mollies and four glowlight tetras for about 1.5 months. Everyone has been getting on pretty well, other than normal molly chasing stuff, and the betta flaring once in a while if they got too pushy. However, today I found one of my mollies pretty beaten up and hiding in the plants, which I'm fairly sure is the betta's doing. I've decided to move the mollies into my other community tank, but I was thinking of leaving the tetras in with the betta. I'm thinking they're too fast for him to catch. Any thoughts/experience with this? I'd hate to come home to find out he's attacked them as well.

As a side note, there's a lot of hiding places/plants in my tank.

Thanks for any input!

I think your tetras would be okay...they are fast fish and I've seen tetra's in tanks with betta's before. Just watch that your tetra's aren't fin nipping the betta. That could be a reason for aggression. I can't imagine balloon molly's being very quick...so that alone wouldn't be a good thing, being in a tank with betta. Betta can be very territorial regardless of other species of fish in the tank.
