Today at my reef club meeting someone gave a speech about aeroponics. It was pretty crazy. What aeroponics is is growing coral in the air. The corals are in a closed system with 100% humidity and then there is a few inches of water underneath them. They have a powerhead setup underneath them to shoot the water up like a volcano effect and fall down on them.
Just thought I would share that interesting little bit of information I learned today.

That certainly sounds different!
So somebody at your club is doing this? Not sure I understand the reasoning behind it though. What are the benefits of this?? Wouldn't it be stressful to the corals to be out of the water like that???

I can think of a few benefits by doing this.... such as more O2, more light available, etc. Please tell us more about the subject.

the only thing is that it wouldnt be visually appealing, no fish or anything. however, if you just want the corals to frag, aeroponic systems are excellent
