View Full Version : Diagnose plant growth problem?
My 4 baby amazon swords (Dave, I don't remember what variety you told me they were) are not growing. Starting to get some light brown tinging to the tips of the leaves. This is in one of the 10 gallon planted tanks. 40 watts CF, 3x/week Flourish. Plant tabs and other macro nutrients are on their way from bigals.
Any idea what I need to do? Suggestions?
Sorry I missed this thread.... what are the tank parameters, water stats etc?
About 78 degrees or so, 8.5 hours of light/day, 40 watts of CF (SunPaq bulbs). 0 ammonia and 0 nitrIte always. 20 nitrAte when I go to do the water change. I think this is a fert problem, but I did just the other day get the macro nutrients.
You just added Iron correct? That may fix it...
Yes, iron, potassium, phosphates, and the kitchen sink just to be sure. I added the iron...when was that, yesterday? I'll check the level again tomorrow I think and see what it looks like.
Been researching the heck out of pressurized CO2 systems. I don't think it is too expensive and looks like it should (read: should) be fairly easy to setup and maintain. On during the day, off at night+airstone at night is what I am reading.
Okay, folks. My chelated iron was at 0 again after dosing just two days ago. Dosed again this evening.
plants say they are hungry...
