one of my zebra danios is fat and is hiding. is she pregnant? i know they lay eggs, but would that cause her to get fat? she has been like this for days now.
Either pregnant or constipated, not sure how to tell between the two with that fish.

if she is pregnant what are the chances of the eggs making it and me ending up with babies? it would be cool to have some babies.....my lfs would probably take some of them from me if i had to many.
Depends on what else is in the tank. Most of the eggs are likely to be eaten.

also would depend on the kind of substrate you have...i know ruecole had danio fry because the substrate was big rocks so the eggs were safe in the substrate...but if you have sand or very fine gravel then the chances are slim.

oh, that kind of sux, guess i'll just have to hope a few make it....if not then oh well. i dont have room for another small tank just to raise the eggs...dont wanna get into all of that.

my substrate is smaller gravel, i dont like the big large gravel, too hard to clean i think.....so i guess the eggs dont have much of a chance in my tank...oh well. i have a balloon mollie thats gonna give birth sometime, she's huge, lol. hopefully some of her babies make it. i dont have a breeder net or anything for them....just gonna let them try to make it on there own....

yea, and maybe i will decide to get a breeder net and see if i can find the eggs before they are eaten and put them in it or put her in it till she lays them or something.... maybe i'll get one for the baby mollies too.....who knows, i probably will, lol.

well don't forget that the male had to fertilize the eggs...so i wouldn't put her into a net.

Like one i was like 'well my swordtails are about to lay eggs anyday now' and well DUH swordtails don't lay eggs. I felt dumb...lol.
