ok well i introduced my bettas last night and wel this morning i found them wrapping...so i have some eggs...BUT...i think i introduced them too early cause i don't see many eggs in the nest and when he wraped her only 1 egg came out...could this be because they are well on their way in the proccess?? like almost done??? thanks.
i will post some pics in a few minutes of them wrapping.

ok..it's been about 3 hours since i first saw my bettas wraping and dropiing eggs and they are STILL DOING IT....lol....i just went and looked and now when they are wrapping the female is dropping from 5-15 eggs at a time. And the nest is absolutley FULL. He is going to have to make his nest bigger to fit all of those eggs in there. lol.

Squirt, when my gouramis spawned, they seemed to only release one egg at a time, too. The also wrapped for several hours. They started around dinner time and were still at it six hours later when I went to bed! (Little wonder there were so many babies!!! :ezpi_wink1:)

As for food, I still haven't got to that stage yet. But I'm sure if you can find the liquid fry food, they'll probably eat that. Also, don't under-estimate the ability of your tank to grow critters for them to eat. My danios are CONSTANTLY hunting something micro-scopic on the glass of the 10g. I have no idea what it is, but they sure eat a LOT of it!

Hope that helps!

Rue

ok....well the male was flarring at the female and keeping her to the other side of the tank after about 5-6 hours of wrapping...so i let them be for 10 minutes and the same thing happened so i though 'ok...she is out of eggs...' so i took her out and then fed her and then she dropped like 10 eggs and ate them...i was mad. so i left her in her own tank. The bubblenest is still really really (like overflowing) with eggs. So thats ok then. I just hope that the fry survive this time.

Wow congrats I think you've got yourself a good breeding pair now. Im glad to hear your nest is full of eggs that should hatch this time.

Oh yea I have read that the fry wont eat the liquifry food but take really well to boiled egg yolk...liquifry I believe has egg in it but has some other stuff to. You should read the one post on alternative fry foods on ultimate bettas..Im suprised you didnt stummble across it yet.

Well it is slightly put back because my male got a little tear in his fins from flaring and after a few days of resting I put my female back with the other s and her and the dominate female had a little tiff so her one fin is torn so I will have to see after a couple of weeks...I do have another female i could try though if my one is not healed yet( the males tear is small and should heal quick).
