the directions on the back of the package dont help, lol.....i know im an idiot.....

but


how the heck do you use one? i have the instant ocean hydrometer.....do i just fill it with water and see where the white thing points? if so it doesnt take much to get the thing to read 1.005.

fill it to the line???? what line......dont remember seeing one, i just filled it close to the top....

hmm, i have the instant ocean hydrometer and a cheap chinese hydrometer and both have a fill line a inch from the top

I own a hydrometer from my basement brewing days. Just getting back to aquariums and want to know what use my hydrometer is to me for fish keeping.:confused:

they hydrometer tests the amount of salt in the water... so if you keep brackish or saltwater fish you will need it, if you just have freshwater then its no use to you.

Just got some reef supplies....and my Instant Ocean hydrometer doesn't have a fill line either. Apparently you just fill till it flows over that internal baffle/weir thingy I think.
