i looked in my 3ft last night and found this sword tail,
it is really weird looking but cool at the same time
it has the body of a female sword but the long tail of a male
it even has the spear at the bottom of it, which tells me it is male
i will post a pic soon

Do young swordtails get their sword before looking like a male or the other way around? ..(sorry dont remember the proper name of the fin that tells you its male.) Mabey its just not a fully developed male. for about 4 months I thought my molly was a female until one day I noticed he have fully developed his fins.

Saw the pic definately a normal male. A little puggy though lol.

Female livebearers if conditions are right and/or there are not enough males in the tank will change sexes to become males. This is what you are seeing.
