Hi. I have a 20 long gallon tank. It is cycled and all is fine. I have 2 anemone, 2 life rock, 1 coral banded, 2 small green crab (dont know their name) and 2 feather duster.

1. Can I add more coral banded? Someone told me that I can only have one male but i could add more female. Is that true?

2. I saw the anemones upside the feather duster. Are they trying to eat it?

3. What else can I add without affecting the existing creatures? Also, I don't want to add fishes, just the invertebrates (someone told me thats their name...)

Thanks for your help :)

i wouldnt add any more coral bandeds.

just a quick question, how much lighting do you have? most anemones need around 10w/g so we just need to make sure thats correct, since a dying anemone can release a toxin killing the whole tank like a condy

Its very dificult to identify sex in Coral Banded Shrimp. If you add another there is little guarantee you would be getting the correct sex or that even if you did that the shrimp would be compatible with one another. 20g is just too small for 2 coral banded to be together even if they were male and female.

I dont have a light system. I use the God's light system, sun. Of course not directly on the tank.

Thanks both for the info on the coral banded. I will left it with just one.

im not sure how much lighting sunlight will give, but i dont think it would be sufficient lighting.

what kind of anemones are they?

Now I am no SW expert by any stretch, but indirect sunlight will never be enough light.

yeah...i would expect that your anemones (sp?) would die without the PROPER lighting they need.

i am also not an expert on SW.

sorry if this sounds mean, but im honestly not trying to be mean.

the anemones definitely need to go. the sunlight is in no way able to sustain the growth that anemones require. the only tanks that can live off of sunlight are unplanted tanks or ones with java moss and java fern. having direct sunlight for a anemone is even worse than a incandescent fixture

the anemones might outgrow that tank too, and for lighting you would need a about 200W total, and a metal halide would work well. you also could use 200W of regular fluorescent since its a long tank

24" Dual Satellite would be the minimum, they run around $160, and its a longer tank verses taller, so you will get more performance out of the lighting than you would otherwise.

You could keep it running and see what happens, but if the anenome dies, it dies, at least you will know why.

One is white the other is like brown with like red spot on the tentacles. Don't know more about them...

About the light thing... mmmm, lets wait and see what happen.
I will tell you when they die so you can judge it.

If they die we won't need to judge.

Why don't you try researching the anemone so that YOU can be the judge.

If they die, they will NUKE the whole tank, that would not be good:c11:
