in minnesota we tend to shoot these fish on site. carp are invasive and nobody here likes them, but we do have fishermen that come from europe who love to catch them and cosider them a delicacy. its weird how different parts of the world have different tastes in fish. and to answer your question of temprature, they pretty much are an all around climate fish, very hardy and tolorate horrible water conditions with ease (thats why here they are common near powerplants and sewage treatment facilities, no other game fish can live there and there is no compitition for food). but hey! why not try to keep a nice walleye? i'll ship you one, although i bet that there are quite a few customs violations.
