Has anyone had luck with keeping inverts, specifically ghost shrimp, with convict cichlids? I have a 55 gallon planted tank btw.

The convicts will enjoy the crunchy snacks

yes...they will see them moving and they will be gone before you can say 'o S*it'

Most people buy ghost shrimp as feeder. Like i am going to buy ghost shrimp so that my fiddler crabs can have a treat.

how big are they and do you have plants in the tank for them to hide in?

12cm? At that size I think I'd be the one to eat them. Well I really love my convicts but I'm finding it hard to create a nice community tank like I had with my bimbo guppies. Is there a species of cichlid that will exhibit interesting behavior similar to convicts without murdering everything in sight?

Kribensis, rams, any dwarf cichlids pretty much. They don't exactly exhibit the same interesting behavior as convicts, but each species has it's own interesting behaviors. I have Kribs and german blue rams together. I love them. But, they will also likely make a snack of ghost shrimp. My kribs did.

wel if you are putting kribs in a community tank i would get all females because the males will get more aggresive than females and if you have a pair...they will kill or injure everyfish in the tank when they lay eggs and have fry.
German blue rams are good but..they nees specific water perimators. So you would have to do your research because i don't remember what they are.
