I was acclimating my clowns, doing the float 20, add 1/2 cup water, float 15, add 1/2 cup more...process. Well it was going on for an hour, and I went upstairs, came down, and then saw to my horror that the clip holding the bag onto the tank fell off, and the clowns were released into the water, along with some of the LFS water. I am not worried about the LFS water, as they have superb water quality and they are disease free. I am so worried about the shock, as my tank has slightly lower specific gravity than my LFS, thiers is 1.24 and mine is 1.20......... Please everyone, pray my new fishies will be okay..

i think they'll be fine you already had them acclimated a little bit so the shock hopefully shouldnt be too bad on them

1.020 and you have corals? Reef specific gravity should be 1.026.

And what would be a safe way to raise the specific gravity?

Don't worry about the clowns, they are really tough fish.

You can raise the SG by topping off with SW, just keep a close eye on the SG level...do it slowly.

mines about 1.026

the clowns should make it. you may just notice a bit of slime hanging off of them but it will go away

Clowns transport badly, but they should make it. Just don't overfeed the tank trying to get them to eat, as they are tempermental eaters when the first hit the water, 1-2 flakes per fish per day MAX, if even that, and give them about a week before they start to take to their environment. Some jump in right away and start swimming along the sides, others hide in the corner, but once they feel better, and their dorsal fin is fully errect, they should start swimming around like normal.

Yea.. they are doing GREAT!
They are swimming everywhere in the tank, in and out of caves in my LR, and they are voracious eaters when it comes to a few Baby Brine shrimp..... I made a batch for my FW fish, so I thought Id put a few in the clowns tank and they had a feeding frenzy...... little buggers ate nearly 30 each..... I love em though...beautiful fish.,:41:
