Don't eat it.

wouldn't you be happy it's still living? you must be doing something right.

No such thing as a "due" date with fish. I think most people strive to see how long they can keep fish alive.

like zackish said, theres no due date. ive seen bettas live for well over 5 years. it all depends on your care and water quality.

if you have your betta in a 1/2g tank with no heat or filtration and fedding it the same thing day in and day out it probably wont live as long as a fish in a 2.5-5g tank with a heater, filtration and a varied diet.

So it all depends. Sometimes the one in the smaller tank might live longer. It just depends on how you take care of them.

Just like everyone else is saying.

Maybe it's a female with eggs? *doesn't know the first thing about bettas* :14:

yep, pretty much it depends on water quality. usually in a 1g, you may get the average life expectancy with good water conditions, and in 5.5g's with heaters and filters, or best yet a 10g with heaters and filters, you can go beyond the average

Fish have expiration dates???? ::Grabs a Het and looks it over:: I don't see any expiration dates on mine.... LOL

There are some fish that live well over 100 years, Koi for one...
