Sore Gil

my red cap has a red coloured gil and it looks to be inflamed and i see the same black moor nipping at it and the red cap doesnt even care, any idea?

He could have a parasite living on it you should treat it ick medicine ussally works

It could also be due to high ammonia or nitrate/nitrite levels. Have you tested your water recently.

no i have not and i will do so, but it hasnt effected ANY of the other fish in the tank just him

He might be more sensetive than others. He will also react to oxygen levels before other fish does.

well i put some "multi treatment" in with him and he seems to be better

ok hes eating now and he seems a bit jumpier now though and the red has spread along his underbelly up to his anal hole and is stretching across the bottom fins
