heres a quick way to make a SW refugium using a AC110.

take the AC, make sure its clean. rip out the media basket and media.

take off the lid of the AC, and cut out a piece so that its wide enough to make a divider between the right side of the AC and the impeller. make sure that the water wont overflow over the filter though

with the side without the impeller, add about 2" of live sand or argonite.

with the hole in the top of the AC that you used for a divider, you can stick a light on it. i used a HAGEN 13W compact fluorescent that was $15

if you want, stick a pound of LR in it, and maybe some hardy corals like a few zoas.

tips-

*measure the roof twice, cut once
*turn down the flow on the AC to the minimum

you can do this with a smaller AC model, but the 110 is the best because of its capacity
