Its not ethical to Inject random things into fish to make them sell better.

I wouldnt buy them, and I'm glad my LFS doesn't sell them.

These fish are not injected with anything... they have been modified at the genetic level to include genes for flourecing from specific coral species. The fish are meant to be used for scientific studies.

For more information in reference the scientific value of the fish you can go here:

There have been multiple magazine articles related to GloFish as well including an article from the Editor of Tropical Fish Hobbyist August 2004 issue. There the editor addressed various concerns and issues giving the GloFish a clean bill of health unless other information came to light.

Before you make a judgement about something please do some research first...

If they were truly for scientific purposes, they would not be commercially available.

They were used initially in scientific studies, however their funding was cut, so they began to sell commercially in order to continue funding for their various projects. I have spoken with one of their VPs multiple times and sure you can take everything said by anyone with a grain of salt... However, I believe the company is trying to do the right thing in the studies they are doing. There is tons of literature out there in reference this subject. I am not saying you are right or wrong, or that your judgement is flawed. I only ask you look at the literature, do some research, be objective, and then make your decision. Far too many people (and I am not saying this is you Drum) make off the cuff decisions based on little or no factual evidence.

Personally, I find this reprehensible. I'd breed the heck out of them and give them away just on principle.
