ok my bettas laid eggs about 2.5 days ago and well the temp in the tank has risin to about 78-80 degrees F. and well the eggs are dropping from the nest fast and well they have little strands of stuff hanging from them....does this mean that the eggs are hatching???or does it mean that the have fungus on them????

EDIT- also some of the eggs look like they have broke in half...if that helps.

Squirt... are the eggs clear or white? If they are white then they were not fertilized or they have become damaged. If there is only one string per egg, then you have fry, otherwise it is most likely fungus.

Well they are somewhat white and clear but they only have 1 strand.
So what does that mean?

also it was the parents first time.

hopefully those one strands are fry.do they wiggle at all? And did you get the mag.glass to look,...is the male putting them back in the nest?

ok they were fry and they did hatch but this morning the fry were gone so they either died from too cold of a temp. or cause the dad ate them but i am going to get a heater and try again in about 3-4 weeks.

About 10 of the eggs hatched.

Atleast you know you can hatch fry....you will just have to try changing the temp and mabey when you remove the male. 3rd times a charm( atleast I think thats how it goes?).If thats totally wrong what I meant was the 1st time you only got them to spawn,2nd you got fry, and 3rd you should be able to raise the fry.

The fry may be down at the bottom of the tank, check carefully and siphon them out if so, Dad is apparently done guarding the nest...

Yeah i looked for like 10 minutes and couldn't find anything.

I am just going to take daddy out and leave the tank there withthe water in it and see what happens.
