I am thinking that I might turn my 5.5g into a brackish tank and move my bumblebee goby in there instead of keeping him in freshwater. I figure he was probably raised in freshwater though, so I'm not sure if I should put him in brackish.....although lots of info says he would do better....
I want to add a few more bumblebee gobies in the tank with him so he has some buddies, but I was wondering what else I could put in the tank with them. Or would it just have to be a species tank?

i would just have a species tank, since its a small tank.
def. make him brackish, just make sure its a slow acclimation to 1.008. make sure you have lots of hiding spaces

yea i know about the slow acclimation....don't wanna shock him. i just thought maybe i could put one of something else in there, but i dont know much about brackish fish.....i know mollies like brackish, but they get way to big for a 5.5g, lol. and i know things like puffers are aggressive so they wont work.

The tank is just too small to have many options when comes to tank mates. You could convert over a mollie or two...

don't mollies get like 4 inches or so? wouldnt they get to big for the tank too?

Most likely... my apologies, as always I am at work and trying to get multiple things done at once.... including typing here on the sly.
I meant to say Endler's... a couple of boys would give you some nice color.

well i found how much salt to add....but i read somewhere that API Aquarium Salt doesn't work for brackish tanks......that I will need to get Instant Ocean instead.....is this true?

Yes, the Instant Ocean is what you would need. The API stuff is just for medicinal purposes.

awww crap. guess i i'll have to go shopping soon. would the api stuff work for a few days till i can get instant ocean, or should i just wait to make it brackish until then?
i just do the 1 tbsp per 5 gal with the instant ocean then right?
