I know they shed, but how long does that usually take? And how does the skin look when it comes off? Does it peel off in one piece like a snake? Or does the skin kind of flake off?

I'm a bit worried because, although this froggy is still active and eating, the way her skin is peeling off reminds me of how my first two froggies looked before they ended up floating dead on the top of the water. :ssad:

And now the other one is peeling too!

They're both still eating and behaving normally (for an aquatic frog! :hmm3grin2orange: ), but I'm still worried.

I checked the water parameters yesterday (I've yet to check them this morning--just having my breakfast! :ezpi_wink1:) and they seemed fine. Plus I just did a 50% water change on Sunday.

I don't know what I'll do if they die on me! :scry:

Frogs peel in bits and pieces...for the most part they shouldn't have any problems provided the humidity is right and the temperature is just so...

If they're eating, they're likely fine...but keep an eye out, and keep things very clean!

Thanks, Rue! (Just saw your post!)

She seems totally fine today. There's still a little bit of skin on her bum (:hmm3grin2orange: ), but the rest seems to have completely flaked off. The other froggy peeled in less than 24 hours.

If my other froggies hadn't died so tragically, I probably wouldn't have even worried!

Anyway, water is clean as clean can be. No ammonia, no nitrites, and the duckweed floating on the top seems to be absorbing any/all the nitrates! (I can't even get the tester to turn a little bit pink!)

Thanks again!
