I have read through some posts on ultimate bettas and many people seem to have success by feeding boiled egg yolk for the first week. I think they conume their yolk sack within a couple of days but Im not entirely sure on that one.

Well 48hours and no fry yet.....what exactly do they look like??

Also i think that they might not have been fertilized because i can still see some eggs in the nest.
I don't know anymore. :(

After 48hours later some should have hatched but they wont be free swimming yet.The fry kindof hang off the bubble until their free swimming and the male will pick them back up if they drop...I would look really well at the nest see if there are any tiny fry.

yeah i have been but i also see some eggs still....Also would it take the eggs a little longer to hatch if it is a little cooler...like 75 degrees celcius????

Also i don't have them in an aquarium so it is harder to see...cause it is plastic so hard to see through. But hopefully they will hatch...

If they don't i wont be too upset becasue it was only my first try.

I can try again in about a month right???

Thanks

Yea I think it would take longer at wait did you say 75celcius or did you mean F. F it would take longer although Ive never heard of anyone spawning in under 80F. Since it is a plastic container it could still have fry. About how many eggs....did you give the male and female a chance to succesfully wrap it usually takes several times for them to get it right. And I think you can spawn again in as little as 3weeks but Im not sure.

Well they were wraping when i woke up and well when i first saw them they wraped like 3 times in around 10 minutes and everytime she dropped about 5-15 eggs. And it looked like he was wrapped right. And well i left them alone until the male started to chase the female away. When the female was in the opposite side of the container...and i waited until i saw her attemp to go near the nest when the male flared at her and sterred her away to the opposite corner. So at that point i figured that they were finished so i ttok her out and treated her so she wouldn't get fungus or anything.
And well it was about 75-80 degrees CELCIUS when the spawned.

P.S.
WOuld it help to see the fry if i had a magnify glass????

Well it sounds like they had the chance to spawn succesfully and a magnifying glass probobly would help they are very tiny.Sorry Im still confused about the temp I looked at my thermometer and at 40C it was like 100 F Mabey Im just being dumb or cant read...I never use celcius so I always have to compare it to farenheight.

ok give me 5 minutes and i will put a different thermomator in the tank and tell you the exact temp.

Well I felt dumb you felt dumb we are even now lol. But that temp sounds right now. I guess you will have to sit and wait. But what I dont understand is if the eggs were infertile the male should have eaten them so mabey they are still going to hatch b/c the male will usually eat any infertile or bad eggs.

one other thing about how much water did the container hold...just curious for when I breed mine.

yeah i would say that there is about 20-50 eggs...maybe in the nest....i would say....but it is hard to see...i know for a fact that he has either ate some or some have hatched because i can clearly see that some have gone missing...and last night he built his bubblenest bigger.

so i guess i will just have to wait it out....and see...lol.

well give me 10 minutes and i will get the measurments of the container.

EDIT- i am not sure how much water it held though.

ok...sorry it took me so long...i ran into some delays....lol.....ok well i did

* = multiply

length*width*height

29cm*15cm*9cm that is the measurmens of the container. I would say that it holds maybe 1-2 gallons. maybe a little less.

Also i ttok the tempp. of the container and it is 72-75 degrees ferinheight (sp?)...would that be right???

72-75F seems a little cold for them.Mabey thats too cold for them to hatch?I would keep looking though.
thanks for the measurements didnt realize they could spawn in somthing so small.

yeah i know i always heard that you need atleast 5-20g tanks with about 5 inches of water in it but...i proved those sights wrong....the only reason i tried it was because all the sights say to lower the level of the water to abotu 2-5 inches of water and mine got about almost 3.5 so well i thought that that was enough and in 2 days they were wrapping....lol....

EDIT- yeah i have alampp on it to try and heat it up some...because it is plastic so i don't want to put a heater in it. Also it is fairly warm in my house...also i have a warm lava lamp going too....lol..

hopefully the lamp will help. And I hope your fry hatch.

yeah...thanks blu for all of the help......my grandparents are coming to my house today for thanksgiving and they are bringing me a magnify glass so i will check then and see if anything has hatched. Hopefully something will have hatched...even if 1 hatches i will be happy. lol.

Thanks sooo much blu and i will keep you posted.

EDIT- good luck with your breeding when you decide to take the plunge.
